TASTING NOTES:
Drop the champagne, pick up the ’61 Brut. Save yourself the trouble of figuring out what Cava is worth $20 and pay up for a world class sparkling wine from a region created by this cuvee (Franciacorta was started by this winery in 1961).

Classic (Champagne) Method Rose from the most important quality sparkling region in Italy… Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay. It’s just killer! This producer created the Franciacorta sparkling wines in 1961, hence ’61 on the label.

Berlucchi ’61 Nature 2012
PRESS:
Wine Enthusiast – 94 pts
James Suckling – 92 pts

Non-dossage. So, bone dry and very precise. Lifted and vibrant this wine is super serious for those that geek out on grower champagne, but if you just want to be the cool kid at the party take this bottle and impress wine loving friends!
Berlucchi
Berlucchi Cuvee Imperiale
TASTING NOTES:
COLOR: straw-yellow with subtle greenish hues. BOUQUET: rich and lingering and complex with floral and fruit notes, and subtle fragrance of yeast and crusty bread. PALATE: clean-cut and full-bodied with appealing, emphatic fruity notes and fine acidity.
Val delle Rose
Litorale Vermentino 2020
PRESS:
James Sucklings – 90 pts
TASTING NOTES:
Its color is pale yellow with light golden hues, has a very intense fruity aroma of summer ripe fruit. On the palate there is an important aromatic note combined with a pleasant persistence. It is a generous and intense wine with great structure and freshness.
Val delle Rose
Val delle Rose Morellino di Scansano 2019
PRESS:
James Suckling – 91 pts
TASTING NOTES:
Morellino really means “more Sangiovese please” but Italians didn’t want to sound demanding (just kidding). This mostly Sangiovese blend comes from the Tuscan coasts and boasts flavors that make you fall in love with Sangiovese and wonder why you hadn’t had something this good in Chianti (not close to the sea)!
Val delle Rose
Val Delle Rose Morellino di Scansano Riserva Poggio al Leone 2016
PRESS:
James Suckling – 90 pts
TASTING NOTES:
Poggio al Leone is intense ruby red in color; a bouquet of ripe fruit typical of Sangiovese di Maremma. Well structured and full bodied.
Val delle Rose
Aurelio Maremma Toscana 2016
PRESS:
Wine Spectator – 93 Pts
James Suckling – 93 Pts
TASTING NOTES:
This is a big wine… jam packed with intense flavors thanks to a warm growing region and great attention to detail in the cellar. Oak aged for a long time, this wine has a dark color in the glass, shows strong character on the nose from intense fruit and wood.
Castello Montauto
Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2019
TASTING NOTES:
Vernaccia is one of the sleepy white wines from Italy. The region was once an ocean floor so you still find sea shells in the vineyards from a million years ago. The wines are aged in stainless steel, so bright, clean, fresh and balanced.
Castello Montauto
Chianti 2016
TASTING NOTES:
This is what a Tuesday night wine should taste like. Don’t take it too seriously, but expect to be impressed given how inexpensive the wine is. Mostly Sangiovese, and not just for pasta night!
Villa Cerna
Chianti Classico Primocolle 2016
PRESS:
Wine Enthusiast – 90 pts
TASTING NOTES:
The rock star of the Villa Cerna lineup… this is an every day wine for people that have been or want to go to Italy. Take 2 bottles… You’ll open it as you prepare dinner and need a second bottle by the time you’re seated.
Villa Cerna
Chianti Classico Riserva 2015/2016
PRESS:
Decanter – 97 pts
Robert Parker – 91 pts
Wine Spectator – 93 pts
TASTING NOTES:
The Villa Cerna Chianti Classico Riserva has floral aromas, and its harmony is the result of the balance between acidity, tannins and alcohol.
Tenuta Alzatura
Sagrantino di Montefalco 2013
TASTING NOTES:
What one expects from dry, tannic reds – complex tannins can get sweet in the best vintages, but the leading core of dense fruit, jam / preserves, tobacco, and forest floor with prominent oak tones.
Tenuta Alzatura
Montefalco Rosso 2018
TASTING NOTES:
Montefalco Rosso has an intense ruby-red color, with noticeable violet hues. The aroma is jammy with prevalent notes of blackberry and currant. Full bodied and balanced.
