Tasting Notes

Ruby red with violet reflections, the wine shows an intense, persistent bouquet with floral and strawberry notes, followed by a fruity, juicy palate marked by lively acidity and a subtle touch of natural tannins.

Cultivation

Hand-picked on September 13th.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation is conducted at 25 °C for six days to enhance aromatic extraction. The wine then remains in stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation, followed by light clarification and filtration before bottling in February.

Aging

6 months in stainless steel, followed by 2 months in the bottle.

For six generations, Marcarini has cultivated estate-owned vineyards in some of La Morra’s most prized sites, including La Serra and Brunate, where steep slopes, diverse soils, optimal sun exposure, and distinct microclimates yield wines of remarkable character while supporting thoughtful, sustainable farming. A pioneer of single-vineyard bottlings as early as the 1950s, Marcarini continues to highlight the individuality of its crus, including the historic Boschi di Berri vineyard, home to over 150-year-old pre-phylloxera Dolcetto vines. Rooted in a “classic” philosophy that seamlessly blends tradition and modern precision, the family carries forward its legacy in an eighteenth-century winery and underground cellars ideally suited for long, traditional élevage.
