Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red with fuchsia and violet reflections, the nose is reminiscent of violets and raspberries, intense, ample, and persistent, leading to a warm, enveloping, almost velvety palate with pleasant notes of ripe cherries and currants.
Cultivation
Hand-picked on September 17th.
Vinification
Fermentation lasts about seven days to fully extract fruit and structure. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages six months in a 40-year-old Slavonian oak barrel, allowing tannins to mature without woody notes, preserving its distinctive profile and natural smoothness.
Aging
Seven months in stainless steel, followed by two months in old oak barrels and three months in bottle.

For six generations, Marcarini has cultivated estate-owned vineyards in some of La Morra’s most prized sites, including La Serra and Brunate, where steep slopes, diverse soils, optimal sun exposure, and distinct microclimates yield wines of remarkable character while supporting thoughtful, sustainable farming. A pioneer of single-vineyard bottlings as early as the 1950s, Marcarini continues to highlight the individuality of its crus, including the historic Boschi di Berri vineyard, home to over 150-year-old pre-phylloxera Dolcetto vines. Rooted in a “classic” philosophy that seamlessly blends tradition and modern precision, the family carries forward its legacy in an eighteenth-century winery and underground cellars ideally suited for long, traditional élevage.
